WHY JOIN

Why you should join this session

Amid economic stagnation known as the 'lost three decades', it's said that about 70% of young people are forced to give up studying abroad. Meanwhile, foreign talent working in Japan are also far from achieving true 'coexistence'. This session is one of the rare places where the parties on both sides sit at the same table.

Hear directly from those active internationally

People with overseas experience, government officials, corporate reps, and university professors will gather to share raw perspectives straight from their respective fields.

Take your first step toward international experience at zero cost

Participation is completely free. You can create your first opportunity to 'get involved internationally' right here in Sagamihara, without traveling abroad.

Your voice will reach government, business, and academia

Discussion contents will be summarized and shared with Sagamihara City, participating companies, universities, and NPOs, directly contributing to policy and field improvements.

WHO THIS IS FOR

We highly recommend this for:

Japanese Students & Young Professionals

For those who 'want to go abroad but can't take the first step'

  • Meet peers facing the exact same struggles as the ~70% of young people who give up on studying abroad.
  • Discover how to get involved in international activities right in Sagamihara without traveling.
  • Directly ask seniors who have actually taken on overseas challenges about their decision-making criteria.
International Students & Foreign Residents

For those who 'want opportunities to speak Japanese and connect with the community'

  • Interact with peers in similar situations while hearing the honest thoughts of the host community.
  • An equal dialogue space where you can truly feel 'welcomed'.
  • Participating in community activities can lead to future career and employment advantages.
Corporate, Government & Education Representatives

For those wanting to 'break through barriers in recruitment and multicultural coexistence'

  • Grasp the gap between systems (like Specified Skilled Worker/Technical Intern) and reality through the voices of those involved.
  • Connect with educational institutions, NPOs, and other industries to secure partnerships that are difficult to build alone.
  • The discussion summary will be shared as a 1-page A4 'Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Model Proposal'.
