In-person Events / 対面イベント

Meet face to face in Shibuya and Sagamihara. English and Japanese exchange events

Japanese and international people sit at the same table and talk in English and Japanese. It is not a drinking party: it is a place to connect through language and careers.

What it's like

Small-group conversations on a topic

  • Small groups

You talk in small groups, not in front of a big audience.

  • Both English and Japanese

Japanese people practice English, international people practice Japanese, and everyone helps each other.

  • Talk about careers too

Japanese who want to work abroad and international people who want to work in Japan can talk about work and careers.

First time?

A little preparation makes the first 10 minutes easy

You don't need perfect English or Japanese. Many people come alone, so just come as you are.

  1. A 30-second introduction

Your name, what you do, one thing you like, and why you are learning the language. That's enough to start.

  2. Two or three easy questions

"What do you do on weekends?" "Any food you'd recommend?" Simple questions keep things going.

  3. Swap contacts

If you want to meet someone again, swap LINE or Instagram, and maybe come to the next event together.
