What the show covers

  • News from Red Hub, with staff experience. In Red Hub, our Discord community, we share news about international careers and world events in both English and Japanese. Each episode picks one story and discusses it from the staff's own experience. Recent topics include résumés and cover letters for jobs abroad, elevator pitches, what OECD data says about where people want to live and work, online learning with Coursera and edX, and how Halloween is celebrated in the US, Ireland and Mexico.
  • "Today's English phrase." The second half of each episode introduces an English expression related to the topic, with examples of how to use it.
  • Special episodes. A three-part interview with our founder, a special on the Sagamihara Global Future Session 2026, and a new series with a university student on our staff who is studying in Salzburg, Austria.

For international listeners

If you are learning Japanese, the show is real, natural Japanese about work, careers and culture, and recent episodes run about 13–14 minutes. You can listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It can also help you understand how Japanese people think about working abroad — useful if you work with Japanese colleagues.

Next step: read the news behind the show in Red Hub

The stories we talk about on Red Look Radio are posted in Red Hub, in both English and Japanese. You can read them, share your thoughts, and connect with people in Japan and abroad who are also thinking about international careers. See the Red Hub page for details.
