Build the place
Volunteer staff
At the center of everything, staff run the weekly online meetups, in-person events, free consultations, and Red Hub. Every 3 months, you choose one team task and one personal challenge.
- About 5 hours a week over 2 days — you share your own schedule each week
- Work online, even from abroad
- Three teams: Business, Social Impact, and Marketing. We're especially looking for Business team members now
- Currently unpaid, with a 1-month trial
Support and welcome
Red Supporters
Participation is free or low-cost, so this place keeps going because of supporters.
- ¥1,500/month (¥1,000 donation + ¥500 activity fee), used to run the organization and its events
- Just supporting is enough. You don't need to speak English
- If you'd like, you can also help with reception, welcoming newcomers, planning, or translation
- You can stop or change your role at any time
Red Look aims to become a certified NPO in the future. We are not certified yet, so donations are not tax-deductible.
Connect companies
Referral partner
Have you heard clients say their international employees feel isolated at work, or that the Japanese staff welcoming them are worn out? This role is about introducing companies that might be interested to our director.
- We only ask for introductions. Our director handles the explanation and the business discussion
- Contractor role, paid on results: when a company you introduce signs a Red Look Partnership contract, you receive 20% of the first-year amount (not renewals). Terms are provided in writing
- You decide your own time, place, and approach. No quotas
- Red Look puts its full effort into making our workshops and year-round community work for both international employees and the Japanese staff who welcome them. When you introduce us, simply share what we do and what we've done, as it is
- For people who meet small and mid-sized business owners through work — labor and social security attorneys, administrative scriveners, tax accountants, insurance agents, registered support organizations — especially around Shibuya and Sagamihara
Referrals are to companies and registered support organizations only. We never sell to people who join our online meetups, events, free consultations, or Red Hub.
Support with your skills
Pro bono
For people who know, from global companies or working abroad, how hard — and how interesting — it is to work across cultures. We ask for a project with a clear theme that ends in 3–6 months.
- Example themes: refining our proposals to companies; preparing to become a certified NPO; hosting “working at global companies / abroad” sessions in free consultations or Red Hub; career sounding-board sessions for staff
- Unpaid. A few hours a month, mostly online. When the period ends, you decide whether to continue
- Here, everyone is both teacher and learner — you'll also learn from younger staff and international participants
- For people with hands-on experience at global companies (sales, HR, finance, legal, and more). Any age, working or retired
Circles of involvement
Stay in any circle, and move between them anytime
Volunteer staff build the place at the center; Red Supporters support and welcome people around them; further out are people who take part in Red Hub, weekly online meetups, and in-person events. Moving inward is not the goal. You can start from anywhere.

FAQ
Getting involved: FAQ
Can I do more than one?
Yes. For example, you can be volunteer staff and also a Red Supporter. If you get busy, you can switch to a different way of being involved.
Do I need to speak Japanese or English?
No. Some Red Supporters join because they want to meet international people even without much English, and volunteer staff can work in either English or Japanese.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Not at the moment, because we are not a certified NPO yet. We aim to become one in the future.
See Red SupportersI'm not sure which one fits me.
